The Oklahoma State Senate passed a bill where converting marijuana into hashish could land you a life sentence in prison. The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (OBNDD) spokesman Mark Woodward said the goal of the bill is to “send a message” that illegal drugs won’t be tolerated in Oklahoma. A first time convinction would be punishable from anywhere from two years to life imprisonment, a second offense would be life imprisonment, and those convicted would not be eligible for suspend sentence or probation.
For those who don't know Hash is a concentrate, it's to marijuana, as a can of frozen OJ is to an orange, it's not more dangerous than marijuana, just more potent than marijuana, so I wonder how the OBNDD will react when they discover Schedule III dronabinol (legal even in Oklahoma) is even more potent than hash?
So weed is fine?
ReplyDeletewhat's the sentence for that?
Possession of any amount 1st offense is punishable up to a year in prison, subsequent offenses are 2 - 10 years
ReplyDeletelife sentence seems a bit too harsh o.O
ReplyDeleteOklahoma doesnt seem to have its priorities straight. Its not like they killed someone, death sentence seems like an overreaction.
ReplyDeletegovernments dont value human life if they're willing to destroy one over something so small.
ReplyDeletehaha, great news!
ReplyDeleteLife imprisonment?
ReplyDeleteSo backwards
Too harsh indeed. People can get away with a lighter sentence by committing rape, assault and even murder. It's just not right.
ReplyDeleteA life sentence?
ReplyDeleteHow can they justify this when murder attracts the same term?
Ridiculous.
whats hash ? :D
ReplyDeleteI will think about that... hmm
ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar to those sentence stuffs, but I think it's ridiculous
ReplyDeleteRape isn't nearly as serious as Marijuana, didn't you know?
ReplyDeleteReturning favor. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThis is a little bit stupid, there are some other worse crimes, that don't get life sentence, and drugs get?
ReplyDeleteLife for some hashish? the druglaws are extremely stupid.
ReplyDeleteUS drug policies are bizarre at best, I'm not surprised by this.
ReplyDeletenow, that's excesive
ReplyDeleteIts kinda crazy the stuff we put people away for, and the stuff we completely ignore. We have such a hypocritical society...
ReplyDeleteMarijuana FTW!
ReplyDeleteWhoever comes up with these maryjane laws should be shot.
ReplyDeletei agree with psicon
ReplyDeleteWHAT!? you have got to be pulling my leg
ReplyDeleteThis is the worst. Law enforcement is over-stepping their bounds more and more it seems lately. +follow
ReplyDeletethat seems really excessive, drugs are choice to begin with, lifetime for hashish is just overkill
ReplyDeleteI don't smoke, so it doesn't really matter for me.
ReplyDeleteThats pretty crazy. I heard about it on the news
ReplyDeleteSeems a bit OTT.
